The Digital Library Initiatives group focuses on the digitization and web-based dissemination of images from collections at the University Libraries, the Reuther Library and Labor Archives, various university departments, and other library and museum partners.

The Reuther Library houses the Detroit News Photo Archive, and collaborated with us to place online approximately 36,000 images scanned from the collection under an IMLS grant.
Sanctuary of TrajanArt Image for College Teaching
Digital Library Initiatives has mirrored the AICT collection of art images taken by Allan T. Kohl, for use by WSU faculty. AICT is a free collection aimed at disseminating these images of art and architecture in the public domain.

The CFAI project showcases digitized images of photographs, pamphlets, and other materials held by the Detroit Public Library about the first 50 years (1890-1940) of the auto industry.
1880's Wedding GownWSU Historic Costume Collection
Digital Library Initiatives worked with the former College of Fine and Performing Arts to digitally photograph and place online their costume collection. This was done to help preserve and increase the physical life of the collection by reducing material handling, and also improve access to the collection so the Fashion Design faculty and students can view them online.
