TRC Location

The Wayne State University Technology Resource Center was designed to bring the University's rich teaching and learning resources and technology resources together in one place for faculty convenience. The TRC has been remarkably successful in this regard, and there has been an important bonus. A highly innovative and productive synergy has developed and staff address important faculty concerns while fostering innovation in teaching and learning theory and technology.

TRC Staff

For example, when faculty members who were presenting at the international HASTAC conference asked to do their presentation both in person and in Second Life ( a virtual world), the TRC staff were up to the challenge. Staff quickly investigated the possibilities, worked with faculty to arrange the virtual venue and the publicity, and joined the audience as avatars. The Second Life presentation added a fascinating element to the HASTAC conference, and led to a lively discussion that took place simultaneously on 3 continents.

The Office for Teaching and Learning, University Television and New Media and Information Technology staff all worked with faculty to make this conference a success. We look foward to discussing your teaching and learning ideas!

Mission Statement

The Technology Resource Center works with faculty and instructors to create enhanced learning experiences. The TRC staff work as a team to bring instructional design and technology expertise to the complex instructional challenges found at Wayne State University.
